Haven't posted a short story in a while...
She narrowed her golden-topaz eyes, pupils thinned to a serpent-like slit. "You dare to call me impotent?!" she hissed. Her claw-like nails dug into the granite counter that stood in between us. My gaze lacked interest or any sense of intimidation. "Unfortunately for you, dear Daisha, I don't fall beneath your gaze, although I've heard from many a man that it is indeed quite deadly." I flipped my black loose curls from my deep purple eye. Hardly did I ever uncover this eye, for I don't want to unsettle prey with the difference in color from my right eye, which was a shade of turquoise-seagreen much like the color of the Caribbean waters. Although as of now, unsettling Daisha was exactly what I wished to do. She flicked a forked tongue from between her serpentine-like fangs. "Damn you, Kumori! Do not try to pull your sly tricks around me! You kitsune are nothing but trouble!" The amused look in my eyes quickly faded, replaced with a noxious glare. "Do not confuse a wolf spirit with one of those damned foxes! Unless you have a death wish I'd watch that forked tongue of yours!" I spat, my blue-grey ears lying flat against my head, baring my fangs. My thick tail swished angrily as I growled my warning. Daisha hissed, a menacing sound from deep within her throat. "Watch yourself, wolf! I have a hundred years on you!" I laughed, a series of bark-like sounds. "You amuse me, serpent. A lizard like you couldn't take on a wolf such as I!" She hissed again, mouth open wide as venom lept past her fangs. There wasn't much force put into the shot, but the acrimonious threat was clear. The granite hissed and fizzled beneath her venom, before bubbling out of existence. "Lizard, my scales! A lizard has no place among the serpents!" she hissed. "You made the same mistake, Daisha. Don't hiss at me over a misstep that was yours in the first place," I growled. The sound was deep within my throat, a menacing warning much more threatening than her acidic spit. She straightened up, her scaley arms crossed over her chest as her golden serpentine eyes glared poison into my soul. "Well. I see that this visit has done nothing to help the situation at hand," she spat. I crossed my arms over my chest, mimicking her stance as my tail fluffed out and my ears laid flat against my head in an irritated fashion. "As I thought it would," I growled. She narrowed her eyes. "I'm sure you won't have a hard time finding the exit. Be gone with you now, Daisha, before I rip out your still heart and hang it as a wall decoration." "Kumori, you are going to get yourself killed someday," she hissed as she turned to leave, "and I'll be there to see to it that you get reborn as a damned human." "You will be one of many, Daisha, I can promise you that," I muttered as she disappeared in a swirl of acidic ash.

That Feeling of Falling
I'm feeling a little
lost inside
myself.
I'm used
to it by
now.
The feeling
of falling
isn't exactly
unfamiliar
as I plummet
towards the
ground.
I find security
within myself
so I pull
away.
Don't take
offense to my
actions,
It can't be
helped....
And there's that
feeling of falling
again...
And I find
myself comforted
by this dropping
sensation.
Please don't take
into consideration
the amount of pain
I had to endure
to get this sense of
security.
This lie within
myself.
You can't trust
your walls...
because eventually,
they'll fall...
and then there
will be that
feeling of
falling....
lost inside
myself.
I'm used

You Will Remember
Everything was dark. No light. Just plain darkness of the deepest sort; the kind that you imagined the monsters lurking in as a child. I was running. I had to escape--wait. Escape what? What was there to escape? But, yes, there it is--thtat horrifying feeling of something pursuing you that you can't escape. The sound of a little girl's laughter floated by, making the hair on the back of my neck stand on end. I tripped in the darkness, falling on my face. The sound of the little girl's laughter drew closer. I panicked, fear filling me up and tightening in my chest so much that it hurt. I got up, running again. And then, suddenly, something appeared up ahead--a light? Yes, a light! A feeling of relief iterrupted the panic as i neared, slowing to a walk. IT was an old-fashioned Victorian street lamp. I walked around it in a circle, confused. What was this doing here? THe darkness should have swallowed it long ago. Suddenly, there was a shape next to it that wasn't there before. A girl? She was shaking. "Hey, are you all right?" I asked. Was she crying? The eerie laughter whispered past my ear again. "Hey--" I began, placing my hand on her shoulder. Suddenly, I realized she wasn't crying at all--she was laughing. I backed away in horror as she lifted her head, the laughter growing louder. My mouth was open in a silent scream of terror as i looked at her face. Or, rather, where her face should've been. She had no eyes, just empty black holes, and she had no mouth, just stitches that went up both sides of her face. She stood up, her light blue dress stained with a deep crusted red. "Veronica," she said, stepping towards me. I shook, frozen in terror. "Roni, I've been waiting for you for a long time." Her voice was soft, echoing. "N-no! Go away! Stay away!" I screamed, shaking. "Roni, I've been waiting a long time," she repeated, extending a bloodstained hand towards my face. I stared, wanting to run but finding that I couldn't. Suddenly, the Victorian street lamp flared, a shape appearing from behind it. It lunged for the girl, who turned, screaming with rage as her stitches popped and she disappeared into the darkness. I stared mortified at the creature who stepped towards me, his paws walking on the air. His fur changed from different shades of blue, green, and purple as he moved. I could only describe this thing as a cat, but I knew that he was something more. "She almost had you, Veronica." "D-do I know you?" He rolled over onto his back, purring as his blue eyes stared at me inquiringly. "Do you know me?" he asked back. I balked. Did I know him? "I... don't know..." I said truthfully. He closed his eyes and smiled a wide smile. "No matter. You will." "I... will?" I was so confused. "You're suffering memory loss from being stuck in the Rabbit Hole for so long. I'll transport you out." "Wait-!" I began, but suddenly everything was spinning. I closed my eyes, and everything stopped. I opened my eyes. I was in my room, my blue-grey cat in my lap. 'Oh, hey Chess." I said, sighing. It was all just a nightmare. I picked Chess up and left, not noticing the curious way his fur shimmered when he moved.

Sorry if there's any spelling mistakes or capitalization issues... I wrote this on my Mac, and it's hard for me to type on it's keyboard for some freakin' reason. Meh.
Anyways, one of my more favorite short stories. Hehehe *mischievious chuckle* this was enjoyable and freaky to write.

Drowned Alive
Can't you see
The pain in her eyes?
Can't you see
all the times that she's cried?
Now she's standing
In a pool of tears
That keeps growing
Throughout the years
And she's being
Drowned alive,
Just getting eaten up
On the inside...
She's trying to
Hold in the pain
But all her energy
Has been drained
She's hoping that
Hou're still blind
To all the wounds
She has to bind
And she's being
Drowned alive,
Just getting eaten up
On the inside...
And she's dying
For them to know
But she's hoping
That they'll go
Leave her behind,
Not one look back
And hope that they're
On a one-way track...
As she's being
Drowned alive,
Just getting eaten up
On the inside....

I've had about the first three stanzas just chillin in my notebook for about a month or two... decided it was finally time to go and finish it.
